Meet the Photographer
Hi there,
I'm Alyssa Mendez!
The face behind the camera, your biggest cheerleader, and probably the person who'll make you laugh before I ever ask you to smile.
I was born in Orlando, raised in Miami, and eventually found my way to Greenville, South Carolina after four years of collegiate soccer at North Greenville University. I’m the eldest of three, so being a hype woman and keeping things moving kind of comes naturally.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me at a local coffee shop, teaching fitness classes, lifting something heavy, going for a run, or trying really hard not to stop and say hi to every dog I pass. Spoiler: I always do.
Where it all started
Before I ever owned a professional camera, I was the little girl reaching for whatever camera was nearby.
I remember begging for one of those little point-and-shoot cameras, and once I finally got one, I took it everywhere. Family gatherings, sleepovers, vacations, random moments with friends
Over the years, I naturally became the designated picture-taker for my friends and family. From family gatherings to random moments with friends.
I didn’t know it yet, but God was preparing my heart for something bigger.
My Leap of Faith
Then, in 2025, God placed something on my heart that I couldn't ignore.
Buying a professional camera made absolutely no sense on paper, but thoughts and curiosity kept coming back.
I finally followed by heart, took the risk, and bought my first camera: a Canon R100.
What started as “just trying it out” quickly became something much bigger. I realized photography wasn’t just something I enjoyed. It was a childhood passion, a creative outlet.
Fast forward to 2026, I went all in. I officially turned photography into a business, upgraded my equipment, invested in the process, and haven’t looked back since.
More Than Pretty Pictures
Photography is about so much more than the perfect pose or a pretty backdrop.
It’s about documenting the moments you’ll want to hold onto for a lifetime: years of hard work, growing families, meaningful celebrations, and the people you love most.
It’s the sparkle in someone’s eyes when they look at their person. The laughter that happens when you stop worrying about the camera. The moments that feel honest, meaningful, and true to you.

My Approach
I believe the most meaningful photos come from moments that feel natural, unforced, and true to who you are. My approach is rooted in comfort, connection, and creating a space where you can simply be present — no stiff posing or pressure to perform.
Before your session, I’ll help guide you through the planning process, from choosing a location to outfit suggestions and what to expect. My goal is to take the stress out of the experience so you can arrive feeling prepared and relaxed.
During our time together, I’ll offer gentle direction when needed, but I focus on letting moments unfold organically. Whether it’s quiet in-between moments, laughter that sneaks up on you, or real emotion you didn’t plan for — those are the moments I’m always watching for. I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and fully yourself in front of the camera.
After your session, I carefully curate and edit your images to reflect my warm, natural style while staying true to the moment as it happened. Every gallery is delivered with intention, allowing you to relive your memories in a way that feels honest and timeless.
From start to finish, my goal is for the entire experience to feel easy, meaningful, and personal — so when you look back at your photos, you don’t just see how it looked, you remember exactly how it felt.
